Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) links agriculture and health to bring innovative food, nutrition and healthy lifestyles programs to Hunterdon County residents of all ages. Outreach includes research and collaboration in Nutrition, Child and School Wellness, Chronic Disease Prevention and Food Safety & Home Food Preservation
Serves the residents of Hunterdon County through the development and dissemination of research-based information. Assists commercial agriculture operations through research and demonstrations related to tree fruit, small fruit and vegetable crop management, implementation of Integrated Pest Management Systems (IPM), and viable use of natural resources.
Includes the Rutgers Master Gardener program, for home garden and landscape education, information and problem solving. Rutgers Master Gardener volunteers are a unique group of trained individuals who assist Rutgers Cooperative extension in providing horticultural programs and services to enhance their communities, and educate local residents in their home gardens and landscapes
